Ingredients of Prawn Gyoza
- You need 350 g of Prawns (cooked).
- Prepare of Thumb-sized piece ginger.
- Prepare 5 of Garlic cloves.
- Prepare 1 tbsp of Cornflour.
- Prepare 1 tbsp of Demerara sugar.
- It's of Salt.
- You need of Pepper.
- It's of Sesame oil.
- Prepare of Gyoza wrappers.
- You need of Soy sauce or dipping sauce of choice.
Prawn Gyoza instructions
- Make sure gyoza wrappers are kept under a damp cloth whilst waiting to be used.
- Finely chop the ginger, garlic and a third of the prawns.
- In a bowl, mix together: the chopped prawns, ginger, garlic, cornflour, demerera sugar, salt and pepper.
- Add a teaspoon of this mixture to half of a whole prawn before wrapping in a gyoza wrapper using your preferred method (dampen the outer of the wrappers with a little tap water to ensure they seal well. Be careful not to overfill as they may then split).
- Heat a little sesame oil in a pan.
- Cook the gyoza for 1min per side in the pan.
- Add a little water to the pan (just enough to cover the base), cover the pan with a lid and then allow the gyoza to steam for 3mins.
- Remove the lid and let the remaining water evaporate.
- Serve alongside soy sauce or dipping sauce of choice.
